Course Aim
To provide basic knowledge and skills in strategic and operational project risk management. This is an essential prerequisite for profitable construction activities including tendering and for complying with regulatory, safety and environmental legislation. Demonstrating skills in risk management is an increasing requisite to qualify for many tenders, particularly in government contracts.
This course will enable participants to identify, strategise, plan, measure and respond to risks and opportunities within a project or a business environment, in an educated and effective manner.
Presenters
Martin Loosemore is Professor of Construction Management at the University of New South Wales. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building. He has published over 200 books and internationally refereed articles in risk management, crisis management, OHS, corporate social responsibility, HRM and IR.
Michael Foxman is the Managing Director of RiskWise Group, a specialist risk management service provider to the construction, property and mining sectors. Michael holds degrees in Construction Management and Business Administration from Colorado State University. He has extensive experience in construction project management, risk management and business analyses as it relates to construction and real estate development sectors. He lectures risk management at University level and is considered by the international risk management community as an expert in construction and business risk and remains abreast of evolving trends within this specialised area.
