Learn to carry out Pre-purchase Building Inspections and Defect Reports

Carrying out pre-purchase and defect reports building inspections is seen by many builders as a way to capitalise on their years of experience and provide a profitable cash flow in a new market.

It is seen to have reasonably low overheads, low start up costs and "better than swinging a hammer for a living".

Master Builders NSW and RAPID Training have developed a two day training course that provides training in the correct inspection process and the development and completion of the inspection report.

  • Builders who want to become a building consultant
  • Builders who wish to pre-purchase and defect reports building inspection reports
  • Builders currently carrying out inspections who wish to better protect their business

Units of competency:

  • CPCCBC4001A - Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for low rise building projects
  • BSBCMN420A - Write complex documents

How long does the course take?

The course runs over two consecutive days

Prerequisites:

  • 15 years practical experience in the building and construction industry
  • Hold or be eligible for a current Building Contractor Licence or Qualified Supervisor Certificate
  • Have access to the Building Code of Australia (BCA) - Class 1 & Class 10 Building

* You can apply for Accredited Building Consultant with the Master Builders using those reports.
