Master Builders NSW has received the highly sought after ‘Grand Award’ from the Hong Kong Australia Business Association (HKABA) for its contribution to the industry.

“The Chinese community plays a significant role in the building and construction industry across Australia and we are honoured to have been presented with this award,” said Paul Lawrence, Training Manager, Master Builders.

“We have worked closely with the Chinese community for many years and will continue to work hard to represent their interests at an industry level.

Mr Lawrence said that Chinese operating in the building industry were highly skilled and that Master Builders NSW is committed to working with the community to ensure that their voice is heard by the government.

The latest award comes on top of earlier recognition as finalists for NSW Department of Education and Training awards this year.

“We are dedicated to supporting the Chinese workers in the construction industry to ensure that they are able to attain the qualifications they require to work in the industry. But we are also committed to educating the community so that they know their rights and responsibilities when it comes to qualifications.

The award was presented at the Hilton Hotel Sydney by The Hon Sir Laurence Street AC KCMG QC. The sponsor of the award was CMC Markets Stockbroking.

“This award represents the strength of the relationship between the building industry in NSW and the business community in Hong Kong SAR and China,” Mr Lawrence said.

Mr Lawrence also praised the HKABA for its contribution to the business community.

“The HKABA plays a critical role in linking business people and has been instrumental in forming closer ties between the business communities in Hong Kong and Australia.

“I believe that our relationship with the Chinese community will continue to go from strength to strength. We have made some important in roads in educating Chinese workers in the building industry and will continue to work with the community to ensure they are listened to,” Mr Lawrence concluded.
