Unit Aim

For participants to establish their competence in the technical and legislative requirements in home building in NSW. The importance of skills in quality assurance, and a comprehensive understanding of the BCA are the corner stones of this unit. These skills will assist you to select the appropriate building methods and work towards best practice in domestic construction methods.

What You Will Learn

  • Interpretation of BCA and its relationship with Australian Standards
  • The role of Councils and Private Certifiers in the construction process
  • What to look for on site before preparing a quotation

How You Will Benefit

At the conclusion of the unit participants will have a good working knowledge of the Building Code of Australia. Relevant Australian Standards and site establishment works and associated costs.
