Unit Aim

To enable participants on the MBA's Certificate IV in Building Course to gain competence in business planning and financial management in order to allow them to operate a successful small business in the NSW building industry.

  • Develop a detailed and workable business plan for a small business in the building industry
  • Minimise and manage financial risks to a small business in the building industry
  • Establish and maintain appropriate financial, accounting, marketing and administrative processes for a small business in the building industry
  • Implement and monitor a commercially sound financial plan for a small business in the building industry, ensuring compliance with legislation, requirements of financing bodies and the ATO
